The first ever Community Inuttitut Challenge was just recently completed.
Elsie Wolfrey of Rigolet is the Project Manager with Labrador Inuttitut Training Program (LITP).
She says the contest included Nunatsiavut beneficiaries registered in the challenge.
A total of 117 people took part in the contest.
Wolfrey says the beneficiaries had to complete written tasks and write an essay on why Inuttitut is important to Nunatsiavut.
There were some posters and video tasks and an interview with an elder.
She says the Community Inuktitut Challenge was a great success, and they’re looking at holding the challenge annually.
