DHSD Sewing Social has started again in Nain

Department of Health and Social Development held their first Sewing/craft social,  September 30th from 7-9 PM at the Parks Canada Pulâpvik room..

Danielle Baikie is the Social Work Liaison worker with DHSD.

She says individuals who want to take part in the sewing/craft social are responsible for supplying their own materials for their crafts and sewing projects.

Baikie says 7 individuals attended the first sewing/craft social, which was a great turnout.

There are very experienced sewers who attend the group and are willing to help if others request it. They are open to teaching their skills to anyone interested in learning.

Individuals learn  from one another and are creating new ideas.

She says this can be a great experience for young people to learn new things and to create friendship.

Everyone is welcome to attend the social evenings
