Coastal Tree Lighting Ceremonies Coming Up

November is the time of year to celebrate one of the favorite winter holidays, Advent.

Advent is approaching fast, as it will be celebrated this Sunday, November 30th.

In most communities, the annual tree lighting ceremony is a big celebration that brings everyone together.

This year in Nain, the annual tree lighting will take place this Sunday November 30, at 6:30pm.

The tree lighting will take place in front of the Nunatsiavut Government Building.

Christmas caroling, refreshments and Tim Bits will be served following the ceremony.

In Postville, the upcoming Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 3 at 5 pm.

The ceremony will be held at the Recreation Hall.

Everyone is invited to their supper of soup and sandwiches at 5 pm.

This year in Rigolet, they will be holding their tree lighting ceremony on December 5 at 6:30 pm at the Seniors Building.

Everyone is invited, and after the tree lighting, hot chocolate will be served at the Northern Lights Academy School gym.

We will have more information on the Hopedale and Makkovik tree lighting ceremonies later this week.
