Ches Crosbie Considering Run for PC Leadership

Ches Crosbie, a well-known St. John’s lawyer, is announcing his interest in running for leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Newfoundland and Labrador.

No date has been set for the vote.

Crosbie says that Premier Dwight Ball admits we have a financial crisis, but projects little confidence about plans to deal with this crisis.

“Our greatest crisis is a leadership crisis in government,” says Crosbie.

Crosbie added that few feel confident about the future of the province, people are nervous and discontented about jobs and the economy, and the lack of confidence is the result of a failure of leadership.

“It is because of the failure of leadership in government that I am connecting with people about a run for leader of the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador. I want to bring back hope and confidence,” he said.

Crosbie will be spending the next few months travelling the province on a “Connect with Crosbie” tour.

He believes that PC Party members and members of the public deserve a chance to get to know him and decide for themselves whether he has what it takes to lead confidently in a crisis.

He is launching his campaign website, www.chescrosbie.ca, today.

Newfoundlanders and Labradorians can use the website to show their support, check his tour schedule, and share their thoughts.
