The Charles J. Andrews Youth & Family Treatment Centre has been open in Sheshatshiu since the year 2000.
The centre has been offering a Family Program since September 2014.
We spoke with Iris Allen, the Execrative Director for the Centre.
She says the main goal of the 6 week program is to assist families in regaining their self confidence through programs for suicide and crisis situations, first aid and other emergency situations, addictions, and sexual abuse.
Allen says there are 18 full time employees and some casual workers.
Their staff are professional and fully trained to help.
The Family Program is a one year pilot program and is doing really well.
They have new family intakes every 6 weeks.
There are a lot of families applying for the new program.
Allan says right now they have all their beds filled, and there is still a waiting list.
