Canada Day Events in Postville, Rigolet, and Makkovik

Friday is Canada Day, and Nunatsiavut is celebrating Canada’s 149th birthday with pride.

In Postville, a community parade starts at 2 pm, followed by games for the kids at the ball field.

A two person flat race takes off at 4 pm, followed by a BBQ at 5 pm at Little Brook Pond.

Fireworks will end off their day at 10:30 pm.

In Makkovik, a parade will start at 10 am.

At 12 pm, there will be a sand castle contest, and then a BBQ.

A boat race will take place at 4 pm for ages 12 and under.

They will also end their day with Fireworks at 10:30 pm at Trap Point.

And in Rigolet, their celebrations will be starting at 1 pm down at the Net Loft.

There will be the raising of the Canada Flag and singing of O’Canada, followed by a parade.

There will also be games for all ages, and a BBQ provided by Vale at 5 pm.

After supper, a dance for all ages will take place at 10 pm and, at the same time, they will shoot off fireworks at the Rock Dock.
