B & J Memorial Tournament Results

The Dream Team from Nain were the overall winners of the 14th Annual Bernard and Jeffrey Webb hockey tournament.

The Silver medal went to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The Flames team from Nain took the bronze.

Most Sportsmanlike team were the Rubber Puckies of Nain.

James Dicker of Nain was selected Most Sportsmanlike player.

Top Goal Tender in the playoffs was Josh Angnatok of Nain; Angnatok had 2 shut outs during the playoffs.

The top Overall Goalie was Brian Flowers of Nain.

Top Overall scorer was the RCMP’s Mike Fergunson with a point total of 30.

Most Valuable player went to Duane Piwas of Natuashish and the Overall MVP was RCMP member Lorenz Sanders.

A total of eight teams were registered and they included the Dream Team, The Other Guys, Flames and Rubber Puckies from Nain, with Natuashish Most, the Team Innu, Amaguit and the RCMP’s, who recruited players from Nain.

The tournament started on January 29th and concluded yesterday February 1st.

The tournament is hosted by the Nain Inuit Community Government and the Nain Recreation Department.
