The Provincial Government and Vale NL made an announcement on the underground mining at Voisey’s Bay yesterday.
Vale will be moving forward with its underground mining operation- a move that is expected to extend the life of the mine by 15 years.
Officials from the Provincial government, Nunatsiavut, Innu Nation and MP were in attendance.
Randy Edmunds, MHA for Torngat Mountains District, was also there.
He says the work and process for the underground mining will be starting soon.
There will also be additional employees hired at the camp site.
