AnânauKatiget Tumingit Craft Projects Update

AnânauKatiget Tumingit Regional Inuit Women’s Association are looking for participants to take part in their craft projects.

Charlotte Wolfrey is the Executive Director for AnânauKatiget Tumingit.

Wolfrey says they are progressing and most materials are now ordered for each community.

They now have someone hired In the Upper Lake Melville area.

In Rigolet, Jane Shiwak will be instructing an Atigik making workshop.

She holds two different groups on Monday afternoons and Monday evenings.

In Makkovik, they are still looking for an instructor.

In Postville, the instructor is Jessie Lane.

She will be teaching local people whatever they would like to make; they now have their materials.

In Hopedale, they are still looking for an instructor to make jewelry.

In Nain, they hired Amalia Jararuse; she will be making seal skin mitts and slippers, and the material is now ordered.

They are aiming to get 10 participants in each community for each craft workshop.

She says the workshops will run for 8 weeks in total; they are aiming to be done each workshop by March 31, 2015.
