This Friday, August 12 will mark the 4th Bridging the Gaps Youth Camp at the Labrador Christian Youth Camp.
The Happy Valley-Goose Bay Crime Prevention Committee is hosting a free, fun; positive camp for youth ages 11-13.
The Committee started this camp to fill a void and to give youth an opportunity to form positive relationships with adults and police in their community.
They noticed that the age group of 11-13 really didn’t have as many opportunities as their younger and older counterparts so it was decided that the camp would focus on that group.
The camp focuses on getting youth out and active but also has sessions on self-esteem, healthy eating, internet safety and the dangers of drugs.
Some scheduled events include: Canoeing, presentations, games, campfires, etc.
