A recording of Moravian Solo anthems will be launched in the communities of Hopedale, Makkovik, Nain and Happy Valley- Goose Bay this month.

Tom Gordon is the Professor Emeritus of the School of Music at Memorial University in St. John’s, NL.

Pillorikput Inuit (Behold, the People) is a recorded CD that features Deantha Edmunds, soprano and Karrie Obed, tenor.

The recording is the result of Tom Gordon’s years of sifting through hundreds of music manuscripts from the Moravian churches along the Labrador coast.

Pillorikput Inuit will be launched through a series of concerts in the Moravian churches.

The proposed concert dates are Wednesday, October 28 in Hopedale, Thursday, October 29 in Makkovik, Friday, October 30 in Nain and Sunday, November 1st in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The proceeds from the sale of Pillorikput Inuit will be donated to the Agvituk Historical Society in Hopedale, the White Elephant Museum in Makkovik and the Nain Heritage Committee.

Ok radio will have more coverage when an interview becomes available next week.
