The date for the 22nd annual Makkovik Jamboree has been set.
The Jamboree will take place Saturday, March 21.
Linda Pottle is the Team Leader for the Department of Health and Social Development.
She is also one of the organizers of the Jamboree.
Pottle says they have invited performers from south of their town.
To date, there are 6 invited guest performers who will take part.
They are from Happy Valley, Goose Bay and North West River.
Pottle says Jock Campbell, Mina Campbell, Scott Russell, Lloyd Goudie, Mike Howell, and Gary Mitchell will be performing.
Refreshments will be served.
Last year’s treat was panitsiat with redberry jam, and it more than likely will be the same this year.
She says appreciation certificates will be announced for those who support their programs.
Volunteer awards will also be presented.
Pottle adds door prizes will be given out.
Prizes include an Air Labrador ticket, an Inuit Drum, and T-shirts.
