1st Alumni Sports Meet

The 1st Alumni Sports Meet will be taking place in Nain from October 10 to the 14 at the Jeremias Sillitt Community Centre.

Vyann Andersen is the Mental Health and Addictions Worker with DHSD in Postville.

She says there will be participants from Nain, Hopedale, Postville, Makkovik and Rigolet.

Julie Dicker will be the coach for Nain, for Hopedale; Boas Mitsuk and Danielle Pottle, Vyann Andersen and Kayla Andersen for Postville, in Makkovik; Betty Sampson and Paul Andersen, and for Rigolet the coaches are Charlene Palliser and Pam Campbell.

They are still looking for volunteer photographers from Nain, Makkovik, Postville, or Rigolet.

You must be available, own your own camera, you must provide a slideshow for the awards ceremony, and your travel to Nain will be paid for.

Andersen also says they are also looking for experienced linesmen, referees, and score keepers.

Markers will also be needed for the Cross Country Run and assistants for the Inuit Games.

They are still looking for 2 female and 3 male from Postville, 2 male from Makkovik, and possibly 2 male and 2 females from Rigolet.

As the athletes arrive Thursday morning, they will begin with Table Tennis Encounters.

At 6 pm will be the Opening Ceremonies and volleyball at 7 pm.
