The 10th Annual Ron Pottle Dog Team Race in Rigolet will be off and running on April 7, 2018.
OK Radio spoke with Inez Shiwak, one of the organizers for the race.
Shiwak says the first place prize is $500, second place is $400, and the third place prize is $300.
$200 will be awarded to each team afterward.
Each participant will also receive a sleeping bag, a Pelican box for storing things in, a hunting knife, and Ron Pottle’s favorite hockey team flag with the Philadelphia Flyers logo on it.
The Rigolet Inuit Community Government (RICG) also donated funds for the Best Looking Dog Team award, which will be a prize of $100.
