Women’s Safe Fun Day Event

The Empowering Indigenous Women for Stronger Communities are holding a Women’s Safe Fun day in Nain.

Samantha Lyall is the Empowering Indigenous Women for Stronger Communities Facilitator for Nain.

The women’s Safe Fun Day will be held this Saturday on November 23, from 1-3 pm.

She says this is for women aged 16 years and older.

Come and enjoy some food, have a chat about how the Safe House works, topics will include about mental health for women who are in abusive relationships and what other resources are out there to help.

This is a great way to open the conversation on how to make things better for women.

They will also hold a game of Chinese bingo, to break the ice since this is such as important and heavy topic to discuss.

A beautiful Ulu will be a door prize, and if you come up with 2 ideas to help women feel safer about speaking up you will have your name put in to win a $200.

If you need a ride you can call the Nain safe house at 922-1230.

With only limited seats available, they will only take 20 women to attend, so limited seats available, if you can’t make it in please notify Samantha.

For more information you can contact Samantha Lyall at her office: 922-2398 or give her a message on Facebook.
