Widow’s Day in Nain

It’s very windy and cold weather again this year for Widows Festival Day in Nain.

Mary Andersen is the Captain for this traditional festival occasion.

She says there are six widows who are celebrating their day today.

Andersen says Susie Maggo and Kitura Solomon are the cooks.

And the pijiks are Toby and Pauline Tuglavina, Matt Barbour, Chesley Ittulak, Paula Tuglavina, and Althea Solomon.

She says they had bingo cards donated to them and other items from the Recreation department for their games.

She would like to thank the following organizations for their donations:

Community Freezer, Big Land, Haynes store, as well as Edward Sillitt, and anyone else she may have forgotten.

A love feast will be at 3 pm, and closing service is at 5 pm.
