A scallop survey that’s taking place is going well in Nain.
The longliner Grand Duke from Southern Labrador arrived town last Thursday.
The crew picked up one local scallop licence holder.
Deidi Kohlmeister is the Nain Fishplant Supervisor.
She says there are 7 local scallop shuckers working and cleaners on the go.
She says a total of 8,500 pounds of green scallops has been landed up to yesterday.
Kohlmeister says they do not have the price of scallops as of yet for people who want to buy green scallops or the meats.
Ok radio will have further information once the fishplant or Torngat Fisheiries gets the prices straightened out.
