President offers condolences on the passing of Richard Rich On behalf of the Nunatsiavut Government and Beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement, President Johannes Lampe today extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of respected Rigolet elder Richard Rich, who passed away Tuesday.
“Richard was a strong advocate for his community, someone who was never shy to stand up for what he believed in,” says President Lampe.
“No matter the issue, Richard always demonstrated his leadership with a strong commitment to his community as well as to other Labrador Inuit communities.
He was so passionate about making his community a better place that he often refused to take no for an answer.
While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life and the contributions he made.
He will be sadly missed, but his legacy will live on for many years to come.
