Nunatsiavut Government Assembly seeking two youth for the PAGE Program

The Nunatsiavut Government Assembly is looking for two youth to attend to the PAGE Program.

We spoke with Edward Blake-Rudkowski the speaker in the Nunatsiavut Government.

Blake-Rudkowski says the Page program allows two youth to attend to the NG assemblies.

He says they are looking for two youth between the ages of 13-19 years.

Travel and accommodations and meals will be all covered.

Any two youth can apply for these two page positions, youth from all five communities.

There will be posters posted in each school, to see if there are any students interested in attending the Page program.

The deadline to apply hasn’t been made yet, but the next assembly sitting will be held in March.

Blake Rudkowski adds that this is a great program for youth to attend, to see how the Assembly sitting works.

The next Assembly sitting will be held in Hopedale on March 2-4th.

We also spoke with Tabea Onalik who is the Assistant Clerk for the Nunatsiavut Government.

She says every assembly sitting they do rotations for youth to be pages from each community.

Onalik adds that the next assembly will be held in beginning of June and will be accepting applications for pages from Nain.
