Nominations of two candidates for the Inuit Community Government By-Election for the Municipality of Hopedale will be received between the hours of 9 am-4 pm from January 10th, 2020 to Friday, January 24th, 2020 at the Hopedale Inuit Community Government Office, with the exception of Saturday and Sunday.
The candidates shall be eligible to be enrolled on the A voters roll.
The A voters roll is comprised of Inuit, Residents and their Descendants.
Nominations shall be in writing and shall state the name and residence of the candidate and shall be signed by the Proposer and Seconder, both of whom shall be present together with the candidate, who shall also sign signifying his or her acceptance of the nomination.
The qualifications of a candidate for By-Election for the Inuit Community Council are as follows:
1. Eligible to be enrolled on the A voters rolls in a By-Election in the community in which he or she is nominated to serve as a Councillor.
2. Canadian citizen of the full age of 19 years.
3. Ordinarily resident in the community of area for at least 600 days or more prior to the date set for the nomination.
The Advance Poll, if required, will take place on January 31st, 2020.
