NL Hydro Expecting Power to Be Restored to Upper Lake Melville by 7 p.m.

It will be another full day in the cold for many residents of the Upper Lake Melville area today.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is making progress on that mass power outage in central Labrador.

Power was lost yesterday morning and many people went without electricity overnight.

The situation has been linked to a problem on the Churchill Falls transmission line.

Poor weather prevented crews from getting in the air yesterday, and had to resort to snowmobiles to patrol the line.

Hydro now expects to have service restored by 7:00 pm.

Hydro will be connecting the Happy Valley-Goose Bay system to the Muskrat Falls terminal station this winter for more reliable service.
