Nunatsiavut President Johannes Lampe says he’s pleased to have the opportunity to continue working with newly re-elected Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami President Natan Obed.
“During the past three years Natan has demonstrated his strong leadership abilities, both nationally and internationally, on matters of importance to all Inuit within Inuit Nunangat,” says President Lampe.
“He has proven time and time again that he is more than capable of handling every situation in which he finds himself with a sense of proportion. His straight-forward resolve to achieve solutions or desired results, combined Government, and indeed beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement, I offer my congratulations to Natan in his re-election.”
Obed was re-elected to a second term by delegates from the four Inuit regions and the Inuit Circumpolar Council Canada during ITK’s Annual General Meeting in Inuvik last week.
