Nain Man Charged with Intimidation of Court Witnesses in Bootlegging Investigation

Nain RCMP are continuing their efforts to eliminate the illegal sale of alcohol in Nain.

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, a 30-year-old man from the community was arrested and charged for intimidation of court witnesses in an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of alcohol.

Jeffery Solomon Millie has been released from custody, and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on September 5, 2018.

Nain RCMP are working diligently with the community to curb this type of illegal activity.

The public is reminded that the penalty for bootlegging liquor under the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Act can be as high as $50,000, or imprisonment for up to two years, or both a fine and imprisonment.

More charges are anticipated as this investigation continues.
