Makkovik Recreation invites you to join them as they kick off the Easter Break with the annual Easter Games.
There are two days planned for all ages that include a Dog Team Race, the Irene Mitchell Memorial Shooting Match, Adult Games, Children’s Games, 3-Legged Soccer and much more.
The fun starts Saturday, April 19, out on the Harbour; all adult games cost $2 to participate.
At 10:00 a.m. the Irene Mitchell Memorial Shooting Match takes place at Sandy Head.
Also at 10:00 a.m. the children’s games start out in the Harbour for ages 2-5 and 6-9.
At 4:00 p.m is the Kid’s Dog Team Race. 1 dog is allowed, the parent must accompany kids for up to 12 years of age.
From 6:00 – 8:00 p.m the Bouncy Castle will be available at the School Gymnasium. Times are as follows: 6-6:30: ages up to 5 years, 6:30-7:15: ages 6-9, 7:30-8:00 p.m.: ages 10-13.
At 8:00 p.m. is the Poker Run (partners). Participants meet at the Community Hall; ages 14 plus. Cost is $10 per team.
On Sunday, April 20, there will be a Snow Sculpture contest going on throughout the week. Judging will take place on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. The person with the best Snow Sculpture will win $100.
Easter Monday, April 21, there will be games for ages 10-13 and 14 plus out in the harbour.
The Labrathon runs at 12 noon. Then at 6:30 p.m. there will be the Easter Draw Prizes and Easter Basket Sale at the Gymnasium.
Cash prizes will only be awarded for the Children’s Games, Shooting Match, Labrathon, Poker Run, and the Dog Team Race.
Participants in other games will be awarded as follows:
1st place will have their names entered into the draw 5 times.
2nd place will have their names entered into the draw 4 times.
3rd place will have their names entered into the draw 3 times.
4th place will have their names entered into the draw 2 times.

Participants are only permitted to win one item.
After a participant has won an item from the draw, he/she will not be eligible to win another item. If their name is drawn again it will be voided and we will continue to draw until a participant who has not won an item is drawn.
