Kelly Fraser Tour

Nunatsiavut will be welcoming Kelly Fraser, who is originally from Sanikiluaq, Nunavut.

Fraser sings and raps in both English and Inuktitut.

Her performance is seamlessly blending the two languages with her powerful, insightful, and politically-relevant lyrics.

Fraser’s album, Sedna recently received a nomination from the Juno awards 2018 for indigenous album of the year and a nomination from the indigenous music awards for best pop album.

She has been through many personal struggles and uses her pain as inspiration to make art that can positively impact other Native Youth.

Fraser seeks to spread her messages of joy, healing, and cultural pride through a blend of traditional Inuit music and modern production.

Besides her busy schedule recording and as a performing artist, Fraser teaches Inuktitut language lessons, does cultural and motivational speaking, teaches song writing, and helps to organize Nunavut Hitmakerz, a project which aims to give underprivileged Nunavummiut youth opportunities to learn creative expression and technical skills.

Kelly Fraser will start her tour; starting in Nain this coming Saturday November 10, 2018. She will have a live performance at the Jeremias Sillitt Community Centre at 6 pm.

The following Sunday November 11, 2018, she will be doing two different workshops, one for youth at the JS centre, and another for grades K-6 from 9-10 am followed by Grades 7+ from 10 am – 12 noon.
