For two weeks in July and August a team from Memorial University and Nain mapped the sod house village at Kivallek with drones and conducted small archaeological tests, producing a much improved map and aerial document of the most of the most important winter village in the region before the mission community was established at nearby Okak.
A community open house will be held in the town council boardroom today, August 7, 2018 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm to discuss the results of the project.
OK Radio will have more information about this research when it becomes available.
