Husky Centre to Open This Winter (Audio)

It’s good to hear the Nain Husky Centre will once again be open for the public.

There was a lot of work on renovations done throughout the summer and into today.

Joe Dicker is the AngajukKak of the Nain Inuit Community Government.

He says the air quality was inspected, and has recently come back good.

Dicker added there will be some people arriving to clear out the mold in the interior in regards to people’s health.

He could not say when the actual opening will take place, but there will be ice hockey and other activities proceeding throughout the winter months.

Dicker added regarding the town’s sewage pumps, people in town should NOT be flushing any type of cloths in the toilet.

He says the sewage pumps always get blocked year after year, so he would like to remind the residents to NOT flush cloths that block the sewer.
