Labrador Land Protectors Protesting Outside of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs Office

The Labrador Land Protectors are protesting outside of the Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs office in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL.

OK Radio spoke with Erin Saunders, a Labrador Land Protector, earlier this week following their first protest outside of the Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs office.

Saunders had said that they were going back to protest today.

The employees of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs could not enter the building this morning because the Labrador Land Protectors are blocking the entrance.

They have also set up a tent outside the building.

Saunders stated that they want to send out a message to NL Environment Minister Perry Trimper and Premier Dwight Ball, and shut down the office of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs.

Meanwhile, 42 protestors are scheduled to appear in the Supreme Court today in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The land protectors are charged with allegedly breaking court-ordered injunctions at the Muskrat Falls project site during protests in October, 2016.
