Labrador-Grenfell Health Notice: Dispose of Your Unused Medications

In association with Parachute Canada’s Safe Kid’s Week, May 30-June 5, 2016, Labrador-Grenfell Health wishes to raise awareness of the predictable and preventable injuries that affect children.

According to Parachute Canada, medication is the leading cause of poisoning in children.

Even a small amount of adult medication can be fatal to your child.

Your medicine cabinet may contain unused or expired medications.

Labrador-Grenfell Health is partnering with retail pharmacy outlets in the region to collect unused and expired prescriptions and medications from Tuesday, May 24 to Friday, May 27, 2016.

Products that will be accepted: All prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications including creams, and natural health products such as vitamins, minerals and herbal products.

Bring your medications to the following locations:
• Community Clinics in: Black Tickle, Cartwright, Charlottetown, Churchill Falls, Hopedale, Makkovik, Mary’s Harbour, Nain, Natuashish, Port Hope Simpson, Postville, Rigolet, Sheshatshiu/North West River and St. Lewis.
• In Happy Valley-Goose Bay: Warr’s Pharmacy and Hamilton Drugs.

Products collected will be disposed of in the usual and appropriate manner.
