Evidence On Body Indicates Missing Natuashish Teen

The RCMP have not positively identified human remains found yesterday as James Poker, but are acknowledging that physical evidence found within clothing strongly indicate that possibility.

That is according to a news release from Corporal Rick Mills of the RCMP’s Happy Valley-Goose Bay detachment.

According to Mills, Natuashish community leaders have accepted that this will prove to be one of their residents who went missing on February 15th.

Mill’s adds the RCMP respect their evaluation and their recent media announcements.

The police and the community will confirm the identity of the body once an autopsy is conducted by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office.

The RCMP will also be seeking the cause of death.

The remains are to be flown to St. John’s, NL this afternoon, for that purpose.

According to The Canadian Press, Natuashish Chief Greg Rich says family members have identified the body as that of James Poker.

The body was recovered yesterday, approximately 31 kilometers from Natuashish.

An extensive search had taken place after the 17 year old from Natuashish went missing from the community.
