The Young Girls Empowerment & Personal Development Program will be held in Nain starting today, November 4th, 2019.
Heather Angnatok is the Regional Youth Administrator for DHSD.
She says that this program will be going ahead until November 8th, 2019 at the Pulâpvik Room.
This program is aimed for young girls from along the coast ages 13-18.
She says thanks to the funding agency, Tides Canada provided the funding to deliver this program.
They will be having young girls from along the North Coast of Labrador as well as a Member within the Canadian Constituency.
She says the main objective for this program is to improve the overall wellness and health specifically for young girls.
Angnatok also says that the goal is to encourage young girls to continue their education, to promote healthy life styles, and to empower young girls with confidence.
She adds that intent for the Young Girls Empowerment Program is to educate and promote healthy life styles through informal discussions.
Angnatok says they will also be joining in the Financial Literacy Training that will be going ahead this evening at the Atsanik Inn.
