Possible up to $5,000 fines for unannounced boaters who landed in Makkovik.
The Canada Borders Service Agency is not providing any information on two men removed from a Norwegian pleasure craft that arrived unannounced in Makkovik earlier this week.
The men were arrested and brought to Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
They could be facing charges of up to $5,000 if found in violation of Canadian bans on foreign craft in northern ports.
The ban was put in place to protect vulnerable northern communities from COVID-19.
The Canada Borders Service Agency (CBSA) says it does not provide comment or information on specific situations, and no further details will be made available.
