Two Cases Marine Atlantic

As Newfoundland and Labrador reported two new cases of COVID-19 yesterday some passengers and crew who recently travelled on Marine Atlantic ferry are being asked to get tested because of a possible exposure.

Those who were aboard the MV Blue Puttees when it crossed North Sydney, NS to Port Aux Basque, NL, for the night crossing on Thursday, August 19th are being asked to arrange a test.

In the media release Monday, NL the Department of Health advised all passengers who travelled on the seating area of deck 7 to arrange for a testing. Passengers who travelled on the cabin area do not need to get treated.

In the release, the department said a traveller tested positive for the virus and there is possibly that other passengers may have been exposure.

Public Health is advising anyone with symptoms of COVID -19 to isolate till they get a negative test result. Passengers without symptoms do not have isolate but are asked to monitor for symptoms and follow self-isolation rules based on their vaccination status.
