Summer Literacy Camp in Nain

The Nunatsiavut Government and Frontier College are pleased to offer the Summer Literacy Camps again this summer.

They will be offered in the communities of Nain, Hopedale, Postville, Makkovik, and Rigolet.

We spoke to Brenna McIntyre the Regional Coordinator with United for the Literacy Camp.

The Summer Literacy Camp posted their Applications on the Nain Bulletin Board on Facebook, this is for children from ages 5-12.

The camp will begin on Monday, July 17 for all the communities, but for Nain they will begin on Tuesday, July 18.

The staff has hired Rachel Lidd, Samira Kohlmeister, Kyla Martin, and Chloe Blake for Nain.

The hours of camp will be from 9:30am-12pm, 1-3:30pm, and on Friday’s it is half days from 9:30am-12pm, located at the Jens Haven Memorial School.

McIntyre says that it is a fun day camp throughout the summer for children, and they will be having activities such as culture, language, reading, writing, and science activities.
