The Status of Women Coordinator with Nunatsiavut Government, and Family Information Liaison Unit, Family Support Worker with the Provincial Government went to Hopedale last week.
The purpose of the trip was to meet with Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) families.
Tracy Ann Evans-Rice is the Status of Women Coordinator.
She says the trip was scheduled for July 30th, but due to weather conditions they made it into Hopedale a week later.
Evans-Rice says their office received funding for a project called, “Nunatsiavut Remembers” – “Nunatsiavut IkKaumajut”.
