The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says a recall has been issued for a popular brand of chicken burgers due to possible salmonella contamination.
Janes brand Pub Style Chicken Burgers are being pulled from stores, in connection to an outbreak of illnesses linked to uncooked chicken products.
The product in question is the 800g box, with code 2019 MA 14 printed on the outside of the package, 1348M printed on the inside. The product has UPC 0 69299 12491 0.
Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where purchased.
As of Friday, there have been 474 confirmed cases of Salmonella illness connected to outbreaks across the country, including 11 here in Newfoundland and Labrador.
If you believe you have become ill after consuming a recalled product, the CFIA says you should contact a doctor.
