The Nunatsiavut Government is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide a detailed design plan for the Freight Storage Facilities in Nain, Postville and Rigolet.
NG received funding to construct these Freight Storage Facilities under the Transport Canada Program to protect Canada’s Coastline and Waterways-Safety Equipment and Basic Marine Infrastructures in Northern Communities Initiative.
Each Labrador community relies on seasonal marine services for the delivery of goods, but there is a lack of storage space for cargo once it is discharged from the ferry. These facilities will be constructed in Nain, Postville and Rigolet in order to improve the safety, efficiency and security of cargo.
All design and drafting work for the project must meet or exceed all applicable federal and provincial laws Labrador Inuit laws and Inuit Community by-laws and must be completed in accordance with best industry practices. Completion of the site work design including the varication of the site dimensions and conditions is the responsibility of the proponent.
The Procurement Act will be used to determine the Inuit Content Factor of the submissions and the weighing of the points assigned in this category. It is the responsibility of the proponent to show, in their proposal , calculation of the Inuit Content Factor for the proponent.
