Ronald McDonald House has officially opened their new Family Time Park.
It is made of prayers and miracles. That’s how RMMC Development and Communications Director, Christina Morgan chose to open the event marking the official opening of the park.
Fundraising for the park began in 2021 after they had come up with a design, and the construction team “nailed” it.
The park has many features including a playground, hockey and basketball court, a greenhouse, and a pavilion.
For Morgan, it’s about looking at sick kids who aren’t sick when they’re playing in the park.
That sentiment was evident throughout the afternoon with many children running, laughing, playing and enjoying the brand new area—the strain of the courageous battles they’re fighting nowhere to be seen.
One of those children was four-year-old Ryder, who is one year into his battle with leukemia. His mom, Ashley Renouf, says seeing the playground open is an unbelievable feeling and having the new space is “the best thing that could ever happen to Ronald McDonald House.”
