Canada Day is soon approaching. In Rigolet, they will celebrate Canada Day at the Net Loft starting 1pm.
Cynthia Pottle is the Recreation Director for the Rigolet Inuit Community Government.
They will have an opening remark speech held by Melva Williams the Ordinary Member for Nunatsiavut Government. After the speech they will than raise the flag.
Starting 9am they will hold a Volley-Ball Tournament for ages 14+, teams will consist of 3 on 3, and the fee is $10 per player. Winners will get half the monies. The names will be chosen randomly.
At 4:30pm VALE will host a community BBQ located at the Net Loft.
They will than go for a walk around town in the loop from the Net Loft, then return to play a few games for all ages depending on the weather such as.
3-legged race, water relay of water balloon toss, a water bucket challenge, running races, and an egg race.
In the evening from 7-11pm they will hold a family dance along with fireworks starting 11pm located at the local dock.
Pottle adds that she hopes to see a lot of people out to enjoy the Canada Day celebration, thanks and she looks forward to seeing you all.
