The Advanced polling stations are now open, May 9, for the MHA for the Torngat Mountains.
But the election voting day to submit votes in will be held on May 16, 2019.
The Polling stations started today in Makkovik and Postville.
Jack Shiwak is the Returning officer for the Torngat Mountains.
The Polling stations in Makkovik will be held at the community center and in Postville the polling station is at the Recreation hall.
The polling stations are open now from 7:30am to 7:30pm in Makkovik and Postville.
Shiwak says the special ballot officers in Nain are Boas Bennett’s which is located at 35 Middle Path Road and in Hopedale it’s located at Harbour Drive in Sarah Jensen’s home.
The special ballot officers in Nain will only open the special ballot at 3pm today until 7pm and Hopedale will be closing at 5:30pm.
There are 2 candidates running for MHA, first candidate running is Randy Edmunds who is running for liberal and Leila Evans from Makkovik who is running for PC.
