Ok Radio spoke with Todd Broomfield who is the Director of Renewable Resources for the Nunatsiavut government, about the 2019 polar bear licenses.
Broomfield says The Nunatsiavut Government received 12 licenses for the opening season this past Friday February 1.
He says beneficiaries are now out hunting polar bear.
Broomfield says the polar bear hunting season will stay open until the end of June.
