Parents are encouraged to foster positive feelings towards mask wearing.
That’s according to Dr. Betty Roderiques–Rubio a psychologist.
Masks are now mandatory in all indoor public spaces in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Dr. Roderiques-Rubio says if a parent views wearing a mask a drag, then children will develop negative feelings about wearing a mask.
She suggests instilling in children a sense of duty, kindness and consideration towards others. Wearing of masks can be turned into a fun experience by helping students express their individuality.
