Parents Allowed 1st Day for Kindergarten

Government and school boards have come up with a format that will allow parents of kindergarten children in the schools.

The original back-to-school plan by the Eastern Health District did not allow parents entry into the school, but Education Minister Tom Osborne say that issue has now been resolved.

He first hinted that a solution was in the offing during Wednesday’s COVID-19 update, and has confirmed with VOCM news that school administrators have been informed that parents of kindergarten-age children can go into the school.

Many parents were upset at the thoughtof not accompanying their young children into the school, especially in their first days.

Meanwhile, Minister osborne expects to release details in the next day or two on measures to address the busing situation.

As it stands, 7,000 will be left off the bus because of COVID-19 restrictions.
