The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador is the highest honor bestowed in the province.
Eight recipients will be invested on October 4 this year at the Governor House.
Among the recipients is Joseph (Joe) Goudie, referred to as Labrador’s unofficial cultural ambassador. Mr. Goudie has raised awareness of Labrador’s unique cultures and contributed provincially and nationally to a better understanding of Labrador’s rich and diverse heritage.
He is a master of traditional Labrador canoe builder who taught the craft to at-risk individuals while serving as a mentor.
