Nanilavut is outing out a call to artists for expressions of interest to create an art piece as part of their initiative to honour Inuit in Nunatsiavut who never returned form being away for Tuberculosis treatment.
Nanilavut is looking for artists to create one piece of art to be displayed in locations where Inuit are buried including Cartwright, Northwest River, Goose Bay, St. John’s, and the communities on the north coast of Labrador.
Selected artists will be asked to provide a piece of art along with text describing the art piece. Nanilavut is specifically focusing on the years 1940-1960 and asks that artists consider this in the content of their work.
The deadline for artists to submit an expression of interest is September 29, 2022 at 4pm.
