The residents of Nain and Hopedale were very concerned this past Friday; both communities ran out of gas at their local gas stations.
Dennis White is the General Manager for Woodward’s Oil Ltd in Happy Valley Goose Bay.
White says residents in Nain ran out of gas on Friday morning at 10 am on November 1st while residents in Hopedale also ran out of gas that Friday evening at 5 pm.
The oil tanker arrived to Nain on Saturday November 2nd, 2019.
And the Woodward’s Oil Ltd. Gas station in Nain opened up for residents on Sunday morning.
White says the tanker will be leaving from Nain tonight and will arrive to Hopedale at 7 am tomorrow morning on November 5th, 2019.
After Hopedale, the tanker will arrive to Natuashish for the gas and diesel, then head to Postville and Rigolet.
He adds that this is the last trip to the North coast communities.
White says last Monday; they had a truck filled up with 22 thousand litres of gas for the ferry last Monday for the north coast.
