Here are more of the Canada Day events that will be happening in Nain.
Tomorrow at 2:30pm, there will be a Canada Day Softball Tournament 2022 at the Sports field.
Teams must consist of at least 9 players and a maximum of 11, and winners will receive $50 each.
Please register your team with Recreation Assistant, Edward Harris.
At 3pm, a Cardboard Boat Race will be taking place at the playground.
Boats can contain cardboard, tape, or glue, and must be decorated in Canadian colors.
The prize for the best decorated boat in Canada Day colors and theme will be $100.
A Giant Canada Day Radio Bingo will be held at 5pm with $100 cards, $200 games, $1000 mini jackpot, jackpot to go for $5000, along with 50/50 tickets of $1 each.
Cards will be selling from 9am to 4:30pm at the Nain Husky Centre.
There will be community dance and games for everyone from 7 to 9pm at the Jeremias Sillitt Community Centre.
Every game you participate in gets you an extra ticket for a door prize draw, with prizes that will consist of a $50 gift card from Northern and Frank’s General Store, a 20-inch bike, and 10 gallons of gas plus two new gas tanks, and door prize draws will be at 8:45pm.
To end off the day of events, there will be fireworks taking place at 11pm sponsored by the NICG Recreation and Volunteer Fire Department, and volunteers are welcome.
