Here are more of the Canada Day events for Nain.
On Friday, July 1st, the Vehicle Parade will be taking place starting at the Airstrip at 12pm.
There will be prizes for Best Decorated vehicle, stroller, bike, and pet, with a prize of $25.
The Best Dressed individual in Canadian Colors will win a prize of $200, and judging will start right after the parade.
You must register by 4pm on Thursday, June 30th by calling 922-2690 or 2691.
At 1pm, there will be a free barbeque at the hut sponsored by VALE, serving hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, and treat for children 12 years and under.
Peddle boats will be available for rent at the Old Dam from 1:30 to 5pm.
Rental fees will be $5 per person with a time limit of 15 minutes, and life jackets must be worn.
Please do not bring personal items to the boat as they will not be responsible for lost or damaged items.
Family games and events will be taking place from 1:30 to 4pm for the age groups of 2 to 4, 5 to 7, 8 to 12, 13 to 54, and 55 and up.
There will also be pull tab tickets for sale of 50 cents each.
The fun games for everyone will be Musical Chairs, Tug O’ War, Elimination, Head/Knees/Toes, Dizzy Race, backwards Running Dizzy Race, and Flipper Relay Race.
At 2:30pm, there will be a Canada Day Cake Decorating Contest with prizes of $100 for 1st place, $75 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd.
