In Makkovik the snow crab fishery season ended last Friday, August 6, there were 10 crab boats fishing and they are finished up and gone.
Angel Chaulk is the Fish Plant Clerk.
She says a total of 268,086 lbs of crab was landed for this season.
Chaulk said yesterday the turbot fishery is now on the go with one boat.
A total of 13,685 lbs of turbot had been landed.
She says there are 21 employees working including 3 summer students.
They are expecting more turbot boats to arrive next week.
Meanwhile in Nain the Fish Plant is busy processing char and scallops.
Deidi Kohlmeister is the Supervisor.
She says a total of 28,318 lbs of char, and a total of 354, 295 lbs of green scallops been landed, scallop meats are at 484 lbs.
With a total of 2,271 lbs of smoked char.
Kohlmeister says there are 30 employees working including one summer student.
Nine local char fishermen are still landing their catches.
