The moose hunt is still on-going in each of the Nunatsiavut communities.
Todd Broomfield is the Director of Renewable Resources with the Nunatsiavut Government.
He says they had 39 moose licences and 8 have been harvested so far in the communities of Nain and Makkovik.
Broomfield says they still have 31 moose licences available yet.
And regarding the polar bear licences, they are available now for the Nunatsiavut beneficiaries as well.
He says the applications must be filled out and submitted to your local Conservation Officer by 12 noon on January 31st for your name to be entered into the draw.
Broomfield adds the hunting season will open on February 3rd, 2020.
